Chuck Read
I started tattooing in Pittsburgh, Pa in 1996. After my apprenticeship, I moved to Harrisburg, PA. After working at a few shops in and around the area, I was offered a position at Permanent Impressions Tattoo where I tattooed from 1999 to October of 2008. In October 2008, I left Permanent Impressions to open Never Say Die Tattoo where I will continue to push myself and my staff to new levels of ability and skill.
I began my apprenticeship while I was still in high school. In school I took commercial art for 4 years and began my apprenticeship the end of my junior year. I had been tattooed for the first time about a year prior and immediately fell in love with the art. After receiving several art scholarships and graduating high school, I attended Pittsburgh Technical Institute for Graphic Design. I also attended Allegheny County Community College for Computer Information Sciences. After moving to Harrisburg, I also attended Harrisburg Area Community College for CIS. Before starting tattooing full time after relocating, I also worked at AMP, Inc. as a computer technician.
I also play guitar, bass and drums. Currently bass for The Tenth Circle and guitar for Knuckleduster.
Todd Williams
Todd Williams graduated from Cumberland Valley High School in 2004, where he studied graphic design, photography and fine arts ending his senior year with an independant study. Although he had the opportunity to experiment with a variety of mediums, his focus was pencil and ink.
Todd began designing tattoo art and started his portfolio of original tattoo designs while he was still in high school. Body art was a particular interest of his, and he shadowed a local tattoo artist for his senior project to learn more about the aspects of the tattoo industry.
Todd attended Harrisburg Area Community College where continued studies in graphic arts and photography. In October 2004, he began his apprenticeship at Machine Heads Tattoo in Lemoyne. He tattooed at Machine Heads Tattoo since the completion of his apprenticeship and established himself as a skilled and reputable artist.
In November of 2008, Todd left Machine Heads and was hired by Never Say Die Tattoo where he continues to grow as both an artist and a tattooist and is definately an asset to the shop.
